The result of extreme protectionist policies, a situation often termed as the trade war is what reality looks like right now. Characterized by ratcheting bilateral tariffs, and a tit for tat strategy between the United States of America and China. Trump’s presidential campaign revolved around the theme of ‘American prosperity through re-balancing foreign trade’. In this article, published in Half and One, I talk about a preliminary method of understanding this tariff retaliation using Game Theoretic Analysis.
